The day felt long to Katniss. Well it felt like they day was dragging on and on and on. She felt like the day was never going to end and when it did she had jumped for joy before she remembered that she had a detention to go to. She doesn’t get those often but when she did the day would go on and on and on which it had done today. Walking into the detention room the little red head picked a desk and sat down and took her homework out and began working on it. It was something they had to do in detention was to well do homework. If one had no homework then he or she could draw or simply take a small nap which she was never that lucky.
When detention was finally over and her things put away she slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out. She walked over to the library to find a good book to read even though at times it was hard for her to read cause the words looked all jumbled together so she usually found a book that her dad or her mother could read to her every now and then. They seem to understand her little problem. And she was glad for that because she really doesn’t like it when people don’t believe her about her dyslexia. Some people at school even called her a liar when it came to it. Sure she was good at drama and at singing but with math, English, History, and Science she really has to work hard just to get a decent grade.
At times the young girl wished that she didn’t have dyslexia and she would also read books out loud. It was one of the reasons why she did acting in the first place was to help her work through the dyslexia and try to get better at it. That had helped a little bit and it had improved her reading skills a bit but it has been awhile since she had even stared in a movie so some of her tricks had wouldn’t work for during school especially the dancing and math. That was why she had detention that day because she was dancing in the middle of class and they were telling her off for that.
Finding a book she checked it out and walked out to the parking lot to wait for whoever was supposed to bring her home not that she really wanted to face reality just yet. She did want to go have some fun but she also knew homework sometimes comes first. And she only had her math to do so it would probably be easy to finish.
