Isabella Marie Cullen was born Isabella Marie Swan to the parents of Renee and Charlie Swan on September 13th, 1987. They lived in Forks, Washington until her mother left her father when Bella was three because she couldn’t stay in the small town anymore. She felt like she needed more so she packed her bags and took Bella with her. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Bella loved it there. She took dance lessons at a dance studio, and visits her father in Forks until she was seven. That was when she stopped going. She continued going to school in Phoenix throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Her mother, Renee, met a minor league baseball player name Phil Dwyer. They dated for a while and then got married. Bella was seventeen and her mother wanted to go with Phil to Florida. Her mother wouldn’t leave Bella alone at home, so Bella decided to move to Forks where her father was living. She hated the wet and cold but moved there so her mother could go with Phil. Her father, Charlie Swan, was the police of chief there. He bought her a truck from his friend Billy Burke, which she thought was cool. Her room didn’t change at all since she last came there when she was seven.

She was in her junior year of high school when she moved to Forks. On her first day she made lots of friends. Everyone wanted to meet the new girl name Isabella who preferred Bella. When she was at lunch that day she saw five people who will forever change her life. When she asked one of her new friends, Jessica Stanley, who they were she told Bella about the Cullen’s. Rosalie and Emmett, Alice and Jasper, and Edward. She told Bella how Edward never did seem interested in any of the girls, but Bella couldn’t help to notice that his siblings and he kept looking at her and she couldn’t stop looking at them. When she went to biology she had to sit next to Edward Cullen. He looked like he was in pain and he hated to get close to her. She wondered if she smelled bad. She wanted to confront him about it but he never showed up for a whole week. When he finally did come back he apologized and tried to be friends with her. She kept noticing he had freaky mood swings about her. One day she was almost crushed by Tyler and his van when it was speeding out of control. Edward saved her and pushed the van out of the way. She couldn’t believe it. She was completely baffled. No one was that strong.

She went to Port Angeles with Jessica and Angela to go with them to shop for prom dresses. Bella wasn’t going so she just watched and told them her opinion. Halfway through she told them she was going to a book store and she would meet them at the restaurant. She wanted a book of Quileute legends after hearing a legend from Jacob Black about the cold ones. After the book store she was walking to the restaurant. It was night time and a group of drunken guys came up to her and started harassing her. Edward came to her rescue and saved her before they could hurt her. Jessica and Angela was finished eating when Bella finally got there. They told her that they waited but they were starving so they went ahead and ate. Edward said he could take Bella home after she ate. They sat together while Bella ate and they talked. On the way home she reached for the heater to turn it up after saying it was freezing and their hands collided. His skin was stone cold.


She researched and researched till she found out the truth. Edward Cullen and his family were vampires. The next day of school she confronted him. They had gone to the woods and she told him she knew what he was. He told her to say it out loud and she did. They talked for a long time. She told him she wasn’t scared of him just scared of losing him. That day they started dating. That day they became boyfriend and girlfriend and she started her new crazy life filled with the supernatural. She started riding with him to school and they were hanging out a lot. Soon he took her to meet his family. It was kind of awkward because they were cooking her dinner when she already had eaten before she got there because she knew they didn’t eat human food. Afterwards they went up to Edward room. She looked at his cds and found out he never slept as he didn’t have to.

Days later Edward took her to one of his families’ baseball games. They could only play when a big thunder storm was coming in. They had been playing for a while, Bella watched and were an umpire since she wasn’t a vampire and couldn’t play at their level, when three red eye vampires came walking up. Bella stayed in the back with Edward hoping they wouldn’t smell her. The vampires were going to play with the Cullen’s to take Bella and Edward places since they were going to leave then. That was when the wind blew through her hair. One of the vampires name James got her scent and started after her. The Cullen’s stood in front of her protectively. The vampires left but Edward had read James mind. James was a tracker and Edward just gave him a very exciting game. They quickly left the field and they pretended to have a huge fight while Bella packed. She had to get away from Charlie to keep him safe from James. She hated what she said to him so he would let her leave. She pretended to act like she was going to drive all the way to Phoenix. A plan was made to trick James. Rosalie and Esme would wear some of Bella’s clothes and run through the forest so he would think he was following her scent, while Alice and Jasper took Bella somewhere safe. It was working till James figured it out. He had Victoria find information at her school and found her old life, so he went to her old ballet studio. He tricked her thinking he had her mother so Bella went to him willingly. She soon found out that she was so wrong.

He hurt her and videotaped the whole thing. Soon Edward was there and fighting him. Edward was the faster than the others so he was there alone for a while. He continued to fight James trying to keep Bella safe. During the fight James got to Bella and bit her. Her body was in excruciating pain. She felt like her whole body was on fire. She yelled as Edward pulled him off. His family got there and Carlisle went to Bella after he talked to Edward to keep him from killing James violently out of rage because Bella needed him. Edward went to him and Emmett, Jasper, and Alice took care of James. Ripped him from limb to limb and set them on fire. Soon Edward sucked the venom out of her before she turned into a vampire saving her life. Soon she blacked out and later she woke up in the hospital with machines hooked up to her. She talked to her mother and when she left to go call Phil she talked to Edward. He told her he would never leave her and she was glad because she knew she wouldn’t be able to handle that. Soon it was prom night and Edward had talked her into going. While they were dancing Bella asked Edward to turn her. He wouldn’t because he didn’t want to turn her into a monster. They agreed to disagree that day.

Soon it was her eighteenth birthday and Alice had decided to throw her a small party with the Cullen family at their home. Bella was against this as she hated parties but Alice insisted so Bella gave in. She went to the party and it was going okay. She started opening presents and that was when everything went wrong. She cut her finger and Jasper went crazy. He started towards her losing his control. Edward pushed him away breaking the piano and pushed Bella back and she crashed into a glass table cutting her arm more. Jasper tried again and Carlisle and Emmett held him back. Finally Emmett and Alice got him out of the house and away from Bella. Carlisle started fixing her arm and Edward was watching till Carlisle made him leave. Bella apologized for what happened and Carlisle told her there was no need in apologizes from her. He told her it wasn’t her fault but she felt like it was.

The next day Edward came to see her. They went for a walk in the woods and he told her his family was leaving and that he was going with them. He told her this was because he didn’t want to put her in harm’s way anymore. He felt bad for leaving but he would feel worse if he got her killed. She wouldn’t have it. She didn’t want him to leave. Finally he told her he didn’t love her so she would let him go. She stood there in shock as he left and crumbled up in the forest floor. It was really late and she wasn’t back. People were searching for her everywhere. Sam Uley found her and carried her through the forest and to Charlie’s. For months she wasn’t right. She would wake up in the middle of the night screaming from nightmares. She had a terrible pain in her stomach that didn’t go away. She couldn’t do anything. She didn’t leave the house. She was depressed. She wanted Edward back.

After three months she started hanging out with Jacob Black and her other friends. She finally started to get back to her life without Edward. Her and Jacob started fixing motorcycles. They went to a movie with Mike Newton, who threw up because it was too gory but tried to play it off as he got what was going around the school. Jacob started teaching Bella how to ride her motorcycle and when she was riding it one time she started to hear and see Edward. This has been happening a lot when she was doing something dangerous which is why she kept doing dangerous things. She wanted to see him, hear his velvet voice. She crashed her bike and got a nasty cut on her arm. Jacob and Bella went on a hike. After that day they continued hanging out until one day Jacob stopped answering her calls. He kept away from her and told her to stay away. Bella didn’t know what was going on with him. She was worried about him so she drove her truck over to his house. She tried to confront him and he went into his house. Two weeks later she found out that Jacob was a werewolf. He has been staying away from her for her own safety. She met all of the pack including Sam’s fiancée Emily. She soon learned that Victoria, James ex mate, is trying to kill her out of revenge for Edward killing James, after a while of talking Bella agrees to assist the werewolf’s in the killing Victoria.

Bella wanted to hear Edward’s voice again so she decided to go cliff diving alone. She nearly drowns in the water but Jacob saves her. Unfortunately Alice saw her jumping but didn’t see Jacob saving her. Alice visions, even though she doesn’t know it yet, is blocked when the wolfs are in the picture. So she told Rosalie what she saw. Unfortunately Rosalie called Edward and told him. Edward was devastated and so went to Italy to have the Volturi kill him as he couldn’t live without Bella in the world. Alice saw this and came to Bella’s house to find that she was still alive. She told Bella what was going on with Edward. Bella goes with Alice to Volterra, Italy to stop him from having the Volturi killing him. When they stop him they were brought to speak with the Volturi. After talking for a while Alice promised that Bella would be changed as she has saw it in her vision. When they are safely back in Forks Edward told Bella why he left and begged for her forgiveness. He promised never to leave her again. She forgave him and they continued on like he never left, but when he refuses again to change her she takes the vote to his family. All but two voted yes and it was decided that she would be changed after graduation. Edward tells Bella he will change her himself if she marries him first. When arriving back at home Jacob is there waiting for them. Jacob reminds Edward of the treaty. Bella knows that if they don’t change her the Volturi will kill her but she doesn’t want a war to start between the wolf’s and the Cullen’s. As if to make matters worse Charlie grounds Bella as Jacob turned in her motorcycle to him.

Jacob sends Bella a letter telling her that they can’t be friends anymore. She reads it so much that the note is about to tear apart. She is upset about this until Edward comes over to her house for his daily visits. While she is still grounded by her father, Edward is allowed into the house until nine o'clock. He continuously tries to convince Bella to fill out more application forms for Dartmouth after getting accepted to the University of Alaska, but Bella thinks that college is pointless since she will become a vampire soon anyway. Edward then sees an article in the newspaper about a series of mysterious killings in Seattle and explains to Bella that these killings are most likely caused by a newborn. Bella tries to make things right with Jacob, while Edward keeps insisting that isn’t a good idea as wolf’s are unpredictable. One day at school Bella sees Alice having a vision and Edward tells Bella its nothing. He gets her out of Forks by going with her to Florida to see her mother. When returning to Forks Jacob confronts Edward thinking that he took her away to turn her and Bella finds out that Victoria is back.

Edward must go hunting and leave Bella alone. For fear of Bella putting herself in danger, he bribes Alice with a yellow 911 Porsche Turbo to watch over Bella while he's gone and keep her away from Jacob. Bella is furious at Edward's presumption and manages to slip away to see Jacob. While staying at the Cullen’s house Rosalie tries to convince her to stay human by telling Bella her story of when she was a human and how she became a vampire. Edward returns early from his trip that weekend. He is not mad at her for escaping and realizes that he has been overprotective. He starts taking her to regular visits to La Push, dropping her off at the treaty line and Jacob picks her up on the other side of that line then brings her back. During one of these visits Jacob confesses to Bella that he is in love with her and forcefully kisses her. She responds back with a punch to his face yelling at him to take her home. She ends up breaking her hand. Jacob takes her back and Edward nearly kills Jacob for it. Charlie comes out to stop Edward from hurting Jacob. Edward takes Bella to his house and Carlisle puts her hand in a brace for it to heal. While at the Cullen’s Bella finds out that someone is creating a newborn army. Jasper presents his past and experience with newborns. They suspect that the army is directed toward them.

Bella still has her heart set on joining Edward and his family as a vampire, but after little consideration, she decides that there is one thing she would like to do while still human. She wants to make love with Edward. Edward immediately refuses this demand, explaining that although he wants her as much as she wants him, he could easily kill her if he lost control. Bella insists that he would never allow himself to let that happen. Eventually, Edward agrees to try, but she must marry him first. Bella reluctantly agrees and becomes Edward's fiancée. Before her graduation Bella realizes that the newborn army is being controlled by Victoria. She tells them that they didn’t see it because she has someone else making the decisions and Alice is looking for Victoria making decisions. The Cullen’s and the La Push pack team up to take down Victoria. Edward refuses to have Bella there so he decided to stay out of the fight so she will stay away and safe. He plans on staying with her the entire time.

Jacob overhears Edward and Bella talking about their engagement. He gets pissed and storms off. Bella starts to go after him and Edward tries to stop her. She tells Edward that she can’t let him going into a fight without a clear head. She goes after him and after trying to talk to him tells him to kiss her so he will be happy. After the kiss Jacob goes to the fight happy and a clear head. Bella tells Edward she is sorry about that kiss but is glad that he isn’t mad and that he knows she only did it so he wouldn’t be mad going into the fight. Soon Victoria and Riley find their hiding spot. Victoria has Riley to start attacking Edward to keep him distracted. After a while it looks like Edward is going to lose and Victoria will be successful in killing Bella till Seth comes into the battle. After a long intense battle Seth ends up killing Riley and Edward beheads Victoria. Their pieces are burn and Edward tells Bella that the battle is over and the others are waiting for them. He also tells her that the Volturi are coming. Jacob gets hurt after Bella arrives and they take him to his house while the Volturi guards which includes Jane and Alec. After talking to them they kill Bree Tanner, a newborn the Cullen’s let survive because she didn’t know what she was doing really and said she would try to live by the rules. After this Bella goes to Jacob’s house to make sure he is okay. She tells him that, while she does love him, she has chosen Edward. Jacob reluctantly agrees to stop trying to come between Edward and her, and assures her that he'll be there if she ever needs him. Later that night, Bella cries about having to reject Jacob, while Edward comforts her through the night. She vows that she'll never let Edward see her shed a tear for Jacob again. Bella realizes that she needs to take responsibilities for the choices that she has made, to properly say goodbye to her friends and family and tie herself to Edward in every human way, and later allows Alice to plan the wedding, with few limitations and makes her maid-of-honor. Bella and Edward then go to their meadow, and they agree to tell Charlie about their engagement.

Alice is busy making preparations for the wedding, which is only a few days away. Meanwhile, Edward has bought her a Mercedes Guardian (S600 Guard), which she sees as either a sign of compassion and caring or as over-protectiveness and worry about her safety. This car is for temporary use until she is changed into a vampire, when she will not need the protection, and then he will replace it with a red Ferrari. Bella starts to feel bad about rejecting Jacob and feels that it is her fault that Jacob ran away. Bella meets the Denhali Coven at her wedding. At first it goes smoothly until Jacob and some members of his pack come to the wedding. He argues with her about her wanting to make love with Edward while she is still human. Only the vampires and wolfs can hear this argument though. Bella ask him to leave if he was going to make trouble. This breaks her heart as she really wants to be friends with him. Soon the wedding is over and Bella and Edward leave for their honeymoon on the Island of Esme, an island that Carlisle bought for his wife Esme. The first night they make love. Bella wakes up to find feathers all over her and the bed a little broken. She doesn’t notice at first that she has bruises all over her. Edward points them out and is disgusted with himself that he did that to her. He tells her he won’t make love to her till she is changed but she ends up seducing him into making love again before she is turned.

Soon Bella realizes that she has been getting sick a lot and eating way more than usual. She over looks it until she realizes that she hasn’t been on her period in a while. She realizes that she is pregnant with a child. At first she thinks it is impossible but she is proven wrong as her belly is already looking a little big. She has Edward rush her home and had ended up calling Rosalie knowing Edward wouldn’t want to keep a half human half vampire baby. Rosalie protects her from Edward and some others when she gets there. The baby grows rapidly while in her stomach and she grows ill. She is slowly dying while trying to keep her baby. Edward asks Jacob to try to convince her to kill the baby that was killing her, but Bella refuses, because she loves it. Through Jacob's joking, Edward then suggests for Bella to drink donated human blood, and she quickly becomes stronger, but it also makes the baby so strong that it breaks her ribs by accident. Soon after, Edward realizes that he can hear the baby's thoughts now that it has developed enough of its brain, and starts to love the baby when he hears that it adores Bella. Jacob states that Edward could never hate anyone that loves Bella, which is why he doesn’t hate him.

Jacob goes against Sam’s orders to kill Bella and the unknown baby he ends up making up his own pack as Sam and Leah followed him. Leah became beta of the pack. Soon Bella goes into labor as the baby is tearing up through her stomach and has already broken her spine. After the baby is safely out Bella sees that the baby is a girl and names her Renesemme. Her heart stops beating and Edward starts putting his plan into action to save Bella’s life not knowing if it would work by stabbing a needle right at her heart to put his blood into her. He also starts biting her on her wrist and legs to get his venom going through her body so she would change and come back to him. Jacob is mad about Bella so goes into the living room to kill her baby, but he ends up imprinting on her. Two days later Bella wakes up into her new life. Her senses have improved by great lengths and she starts to tell them about her new eyesight. She is excited to look at Edward with her new eyes and says she could never truly see his brilliance until now. Edward takes her on a hunt and they jump out of the window. Bella kicks off her shoes and runs barefoot. She proves to have great self control when she smells humans and starts hunting them and ends up stopping easily when hearing Edwards voice. They hunt some animals and then returned home to meet Renesemme, while everyone is worried of her thirst, she manages to retain complete control and hugs her daughter. Bella later finds out Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, which makes her very angry; she calms down quickly, but not before trying to kill Jacob after also finding out that he had nicknamed her daughter "Nessie", after the Loch Ness Monster.

Jacob soon finds out that the Cullen’s are planning on moving so he shifts into his wolf form and goes to see Charlie and tells him almost everything as he thought that was the reason they were moving. Charlie is shocked to find out that Bella has known for years about the supernatural world. He tells her to tell him only things that are absolutely necessary for him to know. Bella gets to keep seeing her father and he gets to see his grandchild. Bella adjust to her new life very well feeling that she was born for being a vampire. Months later Bella, Jacob, and Nessie go on a hunting trip. Nessie and Jacob are playing when Irina sees them and things Nessie is an immortal child. When Alice learns that the Volturi and their entire guard are coming to destroy the Cullens, she flees with Jasper on a secret mission and leaves clues for Bella to find a man name Jason Jenks to forge passports and IDs for Renesmee and Jacob if they fail to stop the Volturi. The Cullens look for other vampires to be witnesses, including nomads and other covens, such as the Irish and the Amazon covens.

Bella finds out that she has a special ability. She is a mental shield against powers that involve the mind. She learns how to expand her shield to others and learns how to fight. She kept practicing till the end of December when the Volturi come. Jane gets mad that her powers won’t work after Bella has her shield expand over all her friends and family. The Cullen’s and their witnesses tell them about Nessie. When it looks like they weren’t going to win this Alice and Jasper show up with a hybrid name Nahuel. He tells them of his father and how he impregnated women to make half human half vampire children. He tells them of his brothers and sisters. They prove that Nessie is safe to the vampire and human world. After the Volturi has no more reason to destroy the Cullen’s they leave and go back to Volterra. Afterwards Bella, Edward, and Nessie go back to their cottage that was made for them while they were on their honeymoon. Bella drops her shield so Edward can read her thoughts for the first time. She has been practicing that. She shows him how much she really does love him. Two years has passed since that and Nessie has grown up a bit. Even though she isn’t a teenager she looks like one. Bella is a little over protective when it comes to Nessie.
